Forum Upgrade
Hi All - I upgraded the forum software to the latest and greatest version over the weekend. So, what’s this mean for the members? Well, let’s see:
- New Member Profile pages: members can totally customize their profiles. This is sort of like a mini-MySpace page. You can edit the colors, borders, background image, add a video, keep track of friends, have conversations on your profile pages, view statistics, etc.
- Thread Prefixes - you can now choose a prefix for your thread from a pre-populated list of common prefixes, such as “How Do I:”, “Question:”, “Help:”, etc. Hopefully these make it easier for other to help you with your questions.
- User created social groups. I’m not sure how these will play out, if they even get used at all…. Maybe, you never know.
- Reciprocal friendships between users, shows up on profile pages.
- Lightbox viewer for attached images - loads the image on the page when clicked.
- Inline editing of custom user profile fields on the profile pages.
- Search clouds/tags for tagging threads with keywords.
In addition to the upgrade, I’m still adding new stuff, so check the forum often for updates in the Announcement section.
