Koi Profile
We recently added the Koi profile to the website. This species, Cyprinus carpio, is recommended for the backyard pond or extremely large aquariums only. They simply grow way too big for most home aquariums. We get receive lots of correspondence from Fish Lore visitors and it’s worrisome how many are keeping koi in a fish tank. Yeee-ikes!
We also have a call for photos of the various koi varieties that folks are keeping. It’d be cool to have a mini-photo gallery showing the various types. If you have a photo we can use for this page, please send it to support at fishlore dot com. These photos must be your own and not taken from the internet. Be sure to include your name if you want it to appear as the photo credit.
Also, if you have experience keeping koi, we have a link at the bottom of the profile page where you can submit your tips or comments. Please submit your tips if you can add info for that page. It’ll make the hobby better for everyone.
