List Aquarium Info in Fish Forum Profile

Hi All - I added the functionality to list your aquarium information in your profile that will display in all of your posts in the forum.  This was recommended by the Fish Lore moderators and is a good one.  Often times when asking for help we have to repeat the same old question: “What are your tank water parameters?”

These input boxes are displayed for the first tank when new members are registering and hopefully they will use them so they can get more responses to their questions on the aquarium fish forum.

Fields you can fill in for each aquarium:

  • Tank type
  • Tank size
  • Tank age
  • Livestock - fish, plants, coral and other invertebrates in tank
  • Ammonia level
  • Nitrite level
  • Nitrate level
  • pH
  • Temperature
  • Lighting
  • Filter type
  • Protein Skimmer (for saltwater aquariums)
  • Live Rock Amount (for saltwater aquariums)
  • Specific Gravity or Salinity (for saltwater)

You can add info for up to 3 aquariums at the moment.  I’m not sure if we’re going to add room for more tanks at this time.  I want to see how adding this functionality affects the performance of the forum.

To edit your aquarium information, log into the forum and then click on “Edit Aquarium Info” found under the “My Settings” link in the main forum menu.

Thanks,

Mike
