Maintaining and testing the calcium and alkalinity levels in a saltwater reef tank set up can be quite the chore if you have a tank full of growing corals.  There is a piece of aquarium equipment that can help you out called the calcium reactor.  While initially quite expensive to set up, they should be able to pay for themselves over time and they have several side benefits.  Check out the article here: Calcium Reactor.
